I knit, I sew, I quilt. These are the crafts I come back to, although they’re far from the only ones I’ve tried. My grandmother taught me to knit and my mom taught me to sew. I have my grandmother’s tatting bobbins (she taught me to make lace, too) and a collection of vintage sewing machines. I have way too much yarn and fabric stash, but I love it all. I’m a writer but often playing with colour and texture helps me find the right words – or to figure out what comes next in a story.
On this site, I’ll share my textile adventures. My trusty doppelganger, Nelly, does a lot of the modelling.
You can find me on Ravelry as DCDknits and Instagram as AliveKnitting.

I just want to say that I really enjoy your doll sewing content! I’ve just started sewing for my daughters’ Barbie’s and it’s so lovely to see some else taking it seriously! You are an inspiration!
best,
Laura
Thank you!
I really enjoy sewing for the dolls. Glad to find a kindred spirit!
